Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has assured Nigerians that he will resign his office as the number three citizen in the country, if he loses the support of fellow senators.
Saraki gave this assurance yesterday while addressing a live world press conference at the National Assembly in Abuja.
He said, “The leadership of the National Assembly is willing to quit whenever they no longer enjoy the support of member lawmakers.
“This is not about us. This is about the rule of law. We will leave the day we no longer enjoy the support of the members”.
Recall that the President of the Senate had been under serious criticism, with the All Progressives Congress insisting that he should quit his office upon defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party.
