The current Abia State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) was on Thursday, dissolved and supervised by the South East zonal leadership of the party.
However, the PDP leadership inaugurated a new State Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the party in the interim.
The outgone Abia Chairman of PDP, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, was named leader of the Caretaker Committee of the party for the state.
Recall that the dissolved Executive Committee was elected May 2016 and had served for four years as stipulated by the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Inaugurating the Caretaker committee at the PDP state Headquarters, Umuahia, on Thursday, the South East Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP), Chief Austin Umahi revealed that the Committee was composed of the immediate past State Executives of the party.
Umahi also disclosed that Caretaker Committee members are to pilot the affairs of the party for the next three months when a new Substantial executive will be instituted.
