COVID-19: FG invites Chinese Ambassador over maltreatment of Nigerians in China

The Federal Government has invited the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Zhou Pingjian, over reports of maltreatment of Nigerians in China.
A video of Nigerians in Guangzhou, China being sent out of their apartments has been making the rounds on social media in the last two days.
Reacting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama on Thursday met with Mr Pingjian over the issue.
The Minister, in a tweet, said he urged the ambassador to speak with Chinese authorities to intervene in the matter.
He said,”Invited the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Zhou Pingjian to communicate Nigerian Government’s extreme concern at allegations of maltreatment of Nigerians in Guangzhou, China and called for immediate Chinese Govt. intervention. ”
Recall that about fifteen Chinese doctors entered Nigeria on Wednesday with the aim of helping the country manage the spread of Coronavirus.
