A former African Union, ambassador, Dr. Chihombori-Quao, has called on Africans in Diaspora to united against enslavement and discrimination of blacks by whites in the US and across other nations of the world.
Dr. Chihombori pointed out that it was disheartening that Africans are subjected to this high level of discrimination among the whites.
The former ambassador, during an African summit held in Washington DC, US, said, “My mandate is to promote the longstanding and historical, cultural and economic relations between Africa and the US. More importantly, to mobilize the African diaspora, which we define as ‘people of African descent living outside of Africa.”
“In my recently published book, ‘The Wake-Up Call,’ I highlighted the struggle, discrimination, and violence Africans and their descendants have endured.
“From the consequences of the Transatlantic Slave Trade to the current need for the BlackLivesMatter movement.
“As a continent, Africa deserves fair treatment and can thrive like other continents of the world and we will not relent until this is achieved.”
