Three armed robbery suspects have been arrested for allegedly chopping off the hand of a member of the National Youth Services Corps (NYSC), in Angalabiri community of Sagbama Local government area of Bayelsa State.
The corps member who was identified as Luntis Julius, had his hand chopped off during an armed robbery attack on their lodge of members in Angalabiri. It was gathered that the arrest of the suspect was made possible by the indigenes of the community who were infuriated by the inhuman act.
As at Press time, only two of the suspects, Mosan Moses Youdougha and Godswill Vincent, are currently in the custody of the police, as the third suspect arrested by the community is yet to be handed over to the police.
While confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Astimin Butswat, said the police are still making frantic efforts to arrest the fourth suspect involved in the attack. Buswat said the youths of the community aided the arrest yesterday.
