APC Committee: Buni gets support from women groups

All Progressives Congress, (APC), Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Friday received support from 54 women groups under the aegis of Women Political Forum.

The groups in a letter delivered by Dame Pauline Tallen, Minister of Women Affairs said the women groups have absolute confidence in the Buni led committee to recover and rebuild the APC to wax stronger.

The groups noted that Buni’s wealth of experience as a two-term national Secretary gives him an added advantage to speedily reposition the party for better.

The Women Forum, however, urged the party for more women representation in political affairs to contribute to democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

The APC Chairman Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Committee assured the groups of more involvement of women in the political affairs of the party.

“We will look at areas where we can accommodate more women to participate fully and actively” he assured.
